03/06/2009: Art Exhibit Kicks Off Month-Long Commemoration of Philippine Independence in Greater Metro DC Area
03 JUNE 2009 WASHINGTON DC – Philippine Ambassador to the United States Willy C. Gaa (in suit) leads ribbon cutting ceremonies for Brown Strokes on a White Canvas at the Romulo Hall of the Embassy of the Philippines. Eighteen Filipino and Filipino-American artists joined the exhibit which showcased oil paintings, sculptures, photography and mixed work. The week-long exhibit – launched in partnership with the Philippine American Foundation for Charities, Inc.(PAFC) and the Philippine Festival Committee - kicks off the month-long commemoration of the 111th Anniversary of Philippine Independence at the Greater Metro DC Area.
