11/03/2015: Embassy to Host FYLPro Application Local Info Session in DC and National Webinar

The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. is hosting a live Webinar at 6:30 p.m. this March 18 to discuss this year’s Filipino American Youth Leadership Program (FYLPro).  The event is being co-organized with FYLPro delegates throughout the United States and hopes to serve as an information session for prospective applicants and those who wish to learn more about the program.

FYLPro was initiated in 2012 by Philippine Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Jose L. Cuisia Jr., as a means to identify outstanding young Filipino Americans throughout the country, who could help advance the interests of their communities and contribute to the strengthening of Philippine-U.S. ties.  Serving as a partner in the Philippines is the Ayala Foundation, which has played a key role in organizing the program in Manila.

“FYLPro has already brought 30 highly dedicated delegates to the Philippines to participate in immersion activities as well as opportunities to dialogue with senior officials in government, corporate executives and successful entrepreneurs, and leading personalities in selected industries,” Ambassador Cuisia said.  “We hope to tap another group of impressive candidates this year, who will undergo what promises to be another memorable and enlightening experience,” he added.

The search for this year’s FYLPro delegates was announced last January and the deadline for the submission of applications is March 30, 2015.  Interested parties may download the application form by clicking here.

All young Filipino Americans in the metropolitan D.C. area are invited to attend the forum at the Embassy’s Romulo Hall, as the activity will also serve as a social and networking event.  Please send your RSVP to cultural@philippinesusa.org.
