04/04/2011: Philippine Embassy Delivers Consular Services to Filipinos in Alabama and Georgia

Consul General Domingo Nolasco of the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, DC administers the oath of twenty-seven (27) individuals who reacquired their Filipino citizenship during the consular outreach held on March 27, 2011 in Buford, Georgia.

April 4, 2011, Washington, DC – Consul General Domingo Nolasco led a team of Philippine Embassy staff in a consular outreach program in Montgomery, Alabama and Buford, Georgia in March 26 and 27, respectively.

On a one-day mission in Alabama, the consular team was able to process ninety-seven (97) ePassport applications. Consul General Nolasco also administered the oath of eighteen (18) Filipino-Americans who reacquired their Filipino citizenship.

In Georgia, a total of one hundred twenty seven (127) applications for ePassports were processed by the consular team. Further, twenty-seven (27) former kababayan took their oath as dual citizens.

The consular team was composed of Mr. Lawrence Sumando, Ms. Renell Martinez, Ms. Lyra Ocampo, Mr. Joey Macatula and Mr. Abraham Agustin. The consular outreach was made possible through the assistance of Dr. Mary Casals and Dr. Leon Casals in Montgomery Alabama, Philippine Honorary Consul General in Atlanta Raoul Donato and RV Industries, Inc. in Buford, Georgia.

The Philippine Embassy will conduct outreach programs in Tampa, Florida on April 8-10 and in Havelock, North Carolina on April 30. - END
