01/04/2011: Ambassadors Tour to resume this July

April 1, 2011, Washington, DC - The 6th Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors (ACGTD) Tour to the Philippines will be held this year from July 17 to 20. The participants will be led by the Philippine Ambassadors and Consuls General in the United States and Canada in a four-day tour which includes a visit to Malacañang (presidential palace) and an audience with President Benigno S. Aquino III.

A joint project of all Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the United States and Canada in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Trade and Industry, ACGTD tour aims to promote the Philippines as a top tourist destination by encouraging Filipino Americans, their family and friends, particularly those who have not been to the Philippines to visit  and  discover the beauty of the country.

For a special rate of $2,330* for those departing from Washington DC including roundtrip ticket, tour participants will stay at a five-star hotel (Dusit Thani Hotell) in the famous commercial district of Makati City for three nights, with daily buffet breakfast, hosted lunches and dinners, escorted city tour of historic Manila, and a choice of day tour to nearby destinations such as historic Corregidor (World War II battleground), and cultural and culinary tours to Laguna & Quezon, Bulacan & Pampanga, Batangas & Cavite.  The deadline for registration is on June 3, 2011.
